Coffee break- HP PC Card Mouse is quite the cat’s meow
I told you recently about the exciting MoGo Mouse and how it failed to live up to its reputation. I also mentioned that I ordered an HP-branded version of that mouse to see how it works and it arrived this afternoon. I just spent a couple of hours using it in the local coffee shop after charging and pairing it and it fit my needs wonderfully. The convenience of storing and charging this flat Bluetooth mouse in the PC Card slot cannot be overstated for me as it allows me to carry the Fujitsu P1620 in my tiny Waterfield Designs SleeveCase and still have a mouse with me when I need one. The mouse feels quite natural while using it which surprises me since it’s so flat but that’s a tribute to the design. The two buttons work very well and it pairs instantly when the kickstand is opened. If only it had a tiny scroll wheel or something, otherwise I am quite happy with this mouse. It was only $30 at Amazon too.
I should point out that the same folks who make the MoGo also make the HP version, in fact other than the color it looks the same as the MoGo. I heard from the CEO of the company that makes the MoGo after I reported about how the original unit was defective and to their credit they are sending a replacement for it shortly. I’ll try it and compare it to the HP I have now and report back on that. I don’t need two mice the same so maybe we can give one away to a lucky reader? Stay tuned.

James,
They have added scrolling software for your mouse.

There is also a new version that includes scrolling buttons.
Greg, I tried that s/w with the MoGo mouse and it’s old utilities written for Win95. I didn’t like it at all.
The newest Pro version MoGo does have scrolling up/down buttons but is only available in ExpressCard format.
CRASH BANG BOOM! will not run on my new HP dv2500
When the MoGo first came out I was very interested then promptly forgot all about it.
Your recent post ignited my interest again and since I have a birthday coming up I mentioned it to the wife and told her I’d send a link to help her buy it. Then you posted the negative post and the brakes were back on my purchase. Now I started reading this post and thought that you’re praising the HP one so I’ll just try to get that. But when I got to the end of your post I’m left waiting again!
Very much looking forward to hearing about your next experience with the MoGo branded mouse to finally hear whether I should go ahead and order.
In case you’re wondering why I don’t just go ahead and order the HP one right now, I live in Israel and although this thing is small and light it’s always a nightmare to get things shipped outside the US. The MoGo branded mouse is available here in Israel so it will be much more convenient to pick one up locally *if* it gets the JKOTR seal of approval ;)
Dang, so the scrolling software does not work with it? I wonder if they completely canned the PC card with scroll, or if they are still planning it.

For those of us who have umpc’s and would like to have a flat mouse, is there any other way to charge it?
So, there’s an ExpressCard one? Is is also HP branded? Or just MoGo? Now, I’m getting interested.. Thanks!
just received my HP embossed MoGo, works great with my Fuji T4220.

James, since the Mogo mouse takes up the PCMCIA slot does that mean you are now using a USB modem?
Richard, nope, still use the same modem. The mouse comes out when the modem goes in.
Any updates? Did the second Mogo own-brand model arrive? Is it any good?
Just bought my Mogo Mouse,
Sadly it doesn’t work. :(
It charges, but then won’t turn on. Sent email to the company 2 days ago, still waiting to here from them.
Not happy so far. Thinking a traditional mouse is the way to go.
