CBS creating 34 square block WiFi hotspot in NYC
You might have problems finding a parking spot in midtown Manhattan, but at least you won’t have a problem finding a free WiFi signal. Courtesy of CBS and the ads that you’ll see on your WiFi-enabled device, there’s a sizable free hotspot coming to town. The free zone runs north from Times Square up to Central Park and can be found between 6th and 8th Avenue. CBS is even providing routers to businesses within the zone to help enhance coverage. Since the ads could potentially be geo-targeted, I’d grab one of those routers if I owned a business there. A little electricity for the router could pay steep dividends in the long run.

OK, I find it rather disgusting that the area of coverage will include the (Die!) Nokia (Die!) Theater within it. 6th & 42nd is the edge of the Bryant Park Hotspot. I wonder if the signal will travel to the 40th St edge of the Park too?
Well, thoughtfix will have fun when he ventures into NYC with his tab.
