Condensation shouldn’t be much of an issue in a stable environment. Stable environment meaning the temperature would stay fairly constant. I think if you had condensation concerns it wouldn’t be mitigated much by an enclosed case (IMO).

The open drive carriers are very helpful if you’re in a system support role. Dropping in a drive, pushing or pulling data, and repeating becomes a pain unless you have a quick way to do it. I have several drives fail a week and they save me a lot of time.

I wouldn’t really use it as a permanent solution.

I still don’t get all these exposed hdd cases we’re seeing.

Wasn’t this kind of exposure supposed to be bad for the hdd. I know at least condensation should be a concern.
