Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard for Tablets
A hot topic when it comes to slates is the wireless keyboard. As handy as slates can be, there are always times when you wish you had a decent mobile keyboard to tap on for text entry. There aren’t many mobile keyboard options, so the Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000 from Microsoft is worth a look.
What sets this keyboard apart is the curvy design of the keyboard, to provide a more ergonomic typing experience. Microsoft had to do something to address ergonomics, as the keyboard is extremely thin for easy transport. It doesn’t fold up for storage, so the company makes it as thin as possible.

There’s a unique number pad that will make mobile spreadsheet jockeys happy. This 10-key pad is also Bluetooth, and comes with a pouch for transport. The keyboard is $90, which is expensive, but I found it as cheap as $65 online. It comes with the number pad. Does this look useful to you? Would you throw this in your gear bag to take with you for use with a UMPC or small netbook?

Looks like a nice design, but for my money, nothing beats the old Stowaway keyboards. They had a nice touch and folded into a great size. When I read (here, I believe) that they were stopping production, I went out and bought an extra.
If it wasn’t curved I would be very interested.
I bought one of those last month and use it on occasion with my Viliv X70. Overall it’s a nice enough keyboard, but my biggest complaint is the almost complete lack of inclination to the keyboard. It’s pitched up at a very shallow angle, perhaps only 2 or 3 degrees. There are no built-in “legs” to increase that pitch, and due to the curvature of the keyboard it’s difficult to prop the back up any further without causing it to rock left/right when typing.
I have this set and it is great both from feel and ease. the numberpad is wonderful for doing cad work while using the pen on the tablet (although i wish it had the shift and control keys). now we need a bluetooth multimedia (mediacenter) controler.
I currently use Apple’s mini usb keyboard with my Samsung Q1U. Thin, compact, and sturdy. There’s a slight incline due to the built in usb hub (one port each side). There’s a bluetooth version. Only wish it was black in color.
This is one gadget I would definitely have to handle. No ordering this one sight unseen for me … I might consider it, since my trusty old Sierra is starting to fail, but would have to see.
Three words: Make It Foldable
If it is going to be truly portable it needs to 1) become smaller when not in use, 2) have some method to protect the keys (prevent them from becoming damage, popping off) when in my gear bag.I played with the Matias folding bluetooth keyboard but it is bigger than I want when folded. I think the Think Outside Sierra is still one of the best portable bluetooth keyboards ever made.
You want portable, I ordered this on Saturday:

I have the Fujitsu keyboard that goes with my Stylistic Slate but the keys are fragile to be transporting around and I have already busted three of the top row keys. My old Stowaway BT Keyboard works flawlessly, but its clunky to use on your lap or uneven surfaces. I am hoping the small one I ordered from the link above will work for what I need and will eliminate having to carry a mouse and keyboard.
