Rodfather: works for you because Sprint has it enabled and provides software to support it. Not so on Verizon... why am I not surprised? :(

GPS should work with the connection software. Not sure how it is for Verizon.

hi there. i have the sprint version of that for the past 2 months or so and i got to say that this baby rocks. its compatable with that portable evdo cradlepoint router. although the documentation doesn't mention SDHC compatability i can confirm that it supports at least a 4GB SDHC which is what i have in it. i think there is a 6GB micro sdhc out and that could fit too. unfortunately the speeds of the usb device is terrible. its slower than USB 1.0. i got this thing thinking i had a usb 2.0 flash drive + evdo card. but alas its a usb 0.6 flash drive + evdo card. also this past month or so the device started to lose connectivity. i had to insert and reinsert it. could be an issue if you are using those files on the drive.

i use this on 4 different pc's and it doesn't require an additional usb port for more power like the older evdo usb cards. i use this on my q1 and raon vega and with no issues.

Richard, I had a VZW Broadband Access account from '04 to '06 and have a general idea of my usage requirements. The 5GB cap shouldn't be an issue based on my patterns. However, it IS something to be aware of and I usually don't use WWAN for heavy-duty audio or video streaming, which can easily gobble up tons of bandwidth if you're not paying attention. The VZAccess manager software offers a log to show how much bandwidth has been used, which comes in handy for those concerned.

James and I tend to have Skype sessions while at our home offices; if we're on the road, we revert to cell phones since we have unlimited long distance. If we were to use Skype (especially with video) primarily over our WWAN connections, I'd likely blow through the cap in two weeks! :)

I'm guessing the 5gig cap isn't going to be an issue for your use. I know you use Skype quite often, and was wondering how much bandwidth would be used in your typical sessions?

Part of the reason your Sierra Wireless (AT&T) 875U is bulky is that it's based on the Suierra Wireless MC-8775 mini PCIe HSPDA/EDGE module, which dictates the width of the device...

The other part of the reason it's bulky is the battery (which improves your computer's battery live), the SIM holder, and the penta-band (2100/1900/1800/900/850 MHz) antenna!

That being said, your new Verizon USB modem is slick :)
