Wow, this blog post has generated some interesting commentary since I last dropped by. I also suspect that much of it is faked, but not in the way that "sales" from Batterygeek suspects.
For the record, the only comment posted on here by me not under my own name was the one on December 7 from "Customer? or Victim?". All other posts are as attributed as far as I know. Only the owners of the blog know for sure and they haven't been forthcoming with me.

Mr. Sales. My I call you Sales? One point at a time:

1) "We suspect that Steve Lohan and many of the other posters above with the negative comments to be one of our previous irate and irrational customers by the name of Michael Harrison"

So, it appears that I'm only one of several "irate and irrational" customers of theirs. Either that or they have several "irate and irrational" customers with my name. Other than the post mentioned above, the only posts from me have my name on them.

2) "He also owns a blog where he likes to talk trash about many others."

Yes, I own a blog, that's true. I don't generally talk trash about other people although I do have some product and service reviews. There are a few negative reviews and some of those cover Batterygeek and their lack of customer service. The only post that could be considered outside that realm would be LINK REMOVED but I do think there was something unusual in John Dvorak's cereal that morning.

3) "He appears to have a smoking gun"

If by smoking gun, you mean the obvious conclusions drawn by this post LINK REMOVED then I might have to agree. The evidence is overwhelming.

4) "he has been doing nothing but making up lies and false accusations against us and others"

Ahhh, really? Which of my posts contain lies or false accusations about Batterygeek and its principals and what precisely is false? What have I said about others that are false? Point out the errors and I will address them. If any are false, why are you making that assertion here rather than directly to me or through your lawyer? Could it be because nothing I've said is untrue?

5) "...in addition to posting negative comments about us in this as well as his own blog."

Negative comments are not by their very nature false.

6) "Please note that Mr. Harrison was offered a full money back guarantee a long time ago even long after his 30 days return policy expired however he chose to keep his battery."

True, although that doesn't change the fact that in almost every other respect, the service from Batterygeek has been sub-par.

7) "We have good reason to believe (from some of our clients) that he is manipulating his blog to block all positive comments"

What comments have been blocked? While researching the data behind LINK REMOVED I moderated several comments but none have been blocked. If any are missing, have your customer re-post and if their identity can be verified I'll be happy to approve the comments.

8) "...and that he is also making up phony negative posts against us"

There appear to be enough unhappy customers of Batterygeek in the world that there's no need for anyone to make up negative posts about your service.

And for the record, I have quite a nice life, thank you.

Michael Harrison above is one of the most irate and irrational customers that we have ever encountered after years of building our successful business. We are not exactly sure of the reason however we also suspect that he is somewhat psychotic as he doesn’t seem to want to leave us alone since even before October 1, 2005. He also owns a blog at dragonseye.com where he seems to find comfort in talking trash about us as well as many others. He appears to have a smoking gun as he has been doing nothing but making up lies and false accusations against us and others in addition to posting negative comments about us as well as other big companies as well in his own blog. We have good reason to believe (from some of our clients) that he is manipulating his blog to block all positive comments about our company and that he is also making up phony negative posts against us. We wish that he would just go out and try to get a life for himself instead of trying to broadcast negative trash about us and others however apparantly this is too much to ask of him. We believe that contrary to popular belief, the customer is not always right.

Battery Geek should change their name to Battery Jerk. This was the worst customer service I have come accross in my computer career. Received a battery which broke down within the 1st month and then tried to get it replaced. After too much effort I received another unit which was also defective. After months trying to rectify this I finally did receive a working replacement. Far too much effort was necessary to rectify this. I would recommend to avoid this company.

Battery Geek gave me excellent service. Last week I placed an order and the same day the battery (BG 10-14-88) was sent to me. 36 hours later I've received the package (by Fedex) at my home in Mexico City. After charging it, I could use it in my portable dvd player for over 6 hours (three movies in a row) without interruptions. No doubt: I'm gonna recommend thier product with my friends. I did a great purchase. Sincerely, Jose L. Herrera

I ordered from batterygeek.net and my package arrived today, just in time for my million hour flight to Moscow. I appreciated them for the note in the box and for writing a note on the FedEx shipping form asking them to deliver it to my apartment office. I have to say, everything about doing business with them was stellar. Never have I had such a positive experience within any shopping, let alone online shopping. I was joking with my girlfriend that they were the first business I wanted to be friends with. And I appreciated the little extras in the box. I just think its funny that thier business is more personable than most people, but maybe its just because I live in Texas. Anyhow. I wish them the best and I hope thier business thrives.

Sincerely,

Pasha Morshedi

I am firmly in the corner of never doing business with batterygeek. I received a defective BG 9-12-60. Melissa (yes I actually talked to her) said to send it back, which I did. This was back in mid Feb, 2006. I have left my number repeatedly with the call center they use and receptionists, sent numerous e-mails since then and have gotten no response, nor a replacement battery.
Apparently it's all or nothing when dealing with batterygeek.

BatteryGeek's customer service is so bad I _couldn't_ buy their products no matter how hard I tried. Called their toll-free number, which seems to be a call centre, and asked what vendors sell their products in Toronto. Was told they didn't know but someone would call me back within a couple of days. After not hearing back for a week I tried again - same result. Tried twice more without ever hearing back.

The product I wanted was listed on their website as being on backorder - it said it would be back in stock by February 27. By this point it was mid-march, so I wondered what was up. Customer service didn't know that either.

Finally I gave them my email address in the hope that, like other "geeks", they're better at email than phone. Within an hour I got six identical copies of a form email saying they'd call me within a couple of days. No dice. After a week I emailed them back, repeating my questions and asking for a phone call or email. That was a couple of weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything.

I wish I'd found this site sooner - it would've saved me a lot of wasted time. As it is I'm kind of happy it was impossible to order from them - it sounds like half the time their products don't work anyway.

I have to jump on the band wagon against battery geek. I also received a defective unit. They were pretty fast about offering a replacement, but it's been two weeks. They received the battery I sent back 10 days ago and I can't get them to talk to me on the phone or online. Someone always answers, but customer service is never available. Wonder why customer service is always busy? Well, it's either due to the enormous amount of people with complaints, or a completely understaffed unit. Either way, it doesn't do wonders for me or anybody else with a problem. I'm still gonna let this one run it's course for a while, but I can assure you, that even if I finally get a working battery, I will never do business with them again.

Dear Sean,

Happy holidays and thanks to you and Melissa for sending the BG 15-21-130--fabulous run time with acer aspire--and same day overnight shipping I appreciate. By the way, I placed an order with your customer service rep, Jimmy, patient, knowledgeable and I was more than pleased with the arrival of my 100+ hr.ipod battery pack.

Do not buy anything from Batterygeek?
I bought a battery from their site last week, I got great customer service and the best dvd battery for my child's DVD player.
They have the coolest products, how could anyone not want to buy from them? I had a hard time finding a battery for my ipod so I bought both and got a great deal. Right now they are giving free shipping to those military people (me) and they help charities which makes them very caring people. All their products are warranted too so, I never felt insecure about buying from them. They are so nice amd helpful. I think some of you guys are just being too hard on them considering they must have a lot of customers to worry about, I mean I can't even get my sprint customer service rep to call me back for a week. Some people you can never please and try to hurt others reputations. Remember what it says in the bible " do not throw stones at your neightbors" tis a sin. Love one another, solve problems without getting ugly.

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>"did some research for you and found out that your UPS tracking # for your replacement battery pack is 1Z005R470293749097"</p>

<p>Research? The tracking information for that package shows that the research you did involved ACTUALLY SENDING THE PACKAGE!<br />
How many times do your customers have to nudge you to get you to do your job?</p></div>
