the sticker is if you have an internal expansion slot or not to upgrade the SSD with a 8/16G card. If not then it becomes much less of a deal. If someone can show an easy way to get the connector installed that would be great.

I just got a 2G surf. You can't upgrade the ram, its soldered on. It boots XP in 30 seconds and it is very nice. I just finished installing/hacking a bluetooth module. For memory expansion (and where I've got all the programs installed) I've got a $25 4GB SDHC cards. Perfect little thing.

Actually, the 2G and 4G models both have 512MB of RAM. Only the 8G comes with 1GB.

The 2G also lacks a RAM access panel. That means in order to upgrade the RAM on this model you're going to have to undo a lot of extra screws to disassemble the case, which might be a bit scary for novice users.

The SD card will read much slower than the SSD drive. I picked up a 4G surf for $350, and it's fine. I don't miss the webcam, but the bigger battery might have been nice. 2.5 hours of battery is great for me anyway.

With 2GB of memory, either Windows XP or eeeXbuntu can run without a swapfile happily. I love my eeepc!
