Comments on: ASUS 1101 HA Netbook: 11 Inches of Screen, 11 Hours of Run Time

Bought one of these and I think they are great for the money I paid on Amazon.

I did have a hard time finding a simple case for it as I like to put in a sleeve and then put it in my bookbag, purse, locker, whatever. However, found a small company that makes a pretty good sleeve for this unit and sells them for only $11.95 with free freight at http://www.nuvo-tek.com.

By the same token, if anyone knows of where I can buy a good hard case (not a soft onw) that is not too expensive, please let me know.

I just got mine last night at bestbuy I was the first in orlando to buy one there were about to put it in the shelf when I grab one and ask one of the sales ladys. the price is 379.99$. I’m been playing with it since and let me tell u it’s really good.

The 11.6 inch size is actually a little too big for me. I use a 1001HE and am about to pick up a 1005HA for my wife. For me portability is key but at the ~12″ size, I don’t think there’s a better deal.

In my defense, the press release mentioned LED only for the 11.6, not the 10.1. Of course, press releases don’t always mention everything.

Nearly all of the 10-inch netbooks (and 8.9-inch models, for that matter) that have hit the market in the last year are LED-backlit. In fact, I can’t think of a currently available netbook model that isn’t LED-backlit. ;)

The 11.6″ screen is LED; the 10.1″ screens are not. I don’t think the energy difference between them will be much.
