Apple has always been innovative, but I still find the optical scroll very helpful. This mouse looks very elegant in the video, will like to try it once

James is referring to the trackball on the top of the mouse that replaces the wheel on other mice. The mighty-mouse is optical although it’s still the greatest abomination ever invented.

When I first saw it had no buttons, I was hoping that someone had finally brought out a good SILENT mouse, but it seems my joy was a little premature … getting rid of the scroll wheel is wonderful, but until it is completely silent, I feel I’m better off with a (lighter & cheaper) cable mouse with an optical scroll wheel.

Wow, the Mighty Mouse wasn’t optical? I always knew it was bad, but that’s “really” bad.

The mighty mouse is horrible. I don’t know anyone who stuck with it. I was excited about this mouse but now find it disappointing since you can do everything in the video with a high end mouse already. What has not been solved for me in mousing is zooming into a document efficiently. However, the one thing the mouse does not support is pinch to zoom! It does not solve the one problem that it should be best equipped to handle. Too bad. I’ll wait there are lots of multitouch mouse solutions in the works.

Also, the reviews have not been so good – check out gizmodo’s “claw” comments before buying.
