It’s here, and so awesome. It makes a nice addition to my HP TX2500. (Two notebook minimum. I own no desktop, largely due to this site. :D)
I haven’t had any issues with it yet, except one. The battery looks like a nice handle until you try opening the lid. BAD idea. My fingers are still smarting.

These have been there for preorder from Amazon for awhile now, but haven’t actually been available through them yet. Electronica Direct is shipping them, though at a markup since nobody else has them with the US keyboards. (Mine is in the UPS truck driving around town and should be here any minute now :D)

I’m fairly certain we haven’t yet reported on the availability of the 160GB drive / 1 GB models of the AAO, but I could be mistaken. In any case, Acer might sell direct through their retailers at $399; the higher priced units are available through 3rd parties at Amazon. It’s not at all uncommon for these companies to tack on to the cost. That would also explain why the $399 version is out of stock… folks likely jumped on that price when it was available.
