Sounds like your setup is a good one. I am a firm believer in tools that help your productivity and not just because they're cool. Of course, cool doesn't hurt. :-)

Greetings! I currently use a Sony Clie NX70V with a WIFI card as the core of my handheld, wireless computing. Add in a GPS mouse for in-car navigation, a Stowaway XT portable keyboard for extended typing and a Pentax PocketJet for portable printing. I share a lot of the same functionality and uses that you detailed in your article.

I use OneNote on the desktop for it’s superior note organization, and the ability to drag any type of info on the desktop or from a web page and have it appear anywhere in the note. Since OneNote now syncs but only one way (PPC to OneNote) it’s easier to use the Notes app on the PPC so they will sync back to OneNote.

OneNote is one of the best apps I’ve ever used on the desktop.

Hmmm! Cool blog, I luv the methodology you use for meeting minutes. I only yesterday realised how to enable viewing of my outlook notes in PI, I’ve had it since Xmas, but had been using PPCpad for note taking, which just hasn’t been cutting it for me lately.

I tried Textmaker but found it a little awkward on an Ipaq 3970, I think I’ll give it ago again if/when I get a new device (with VGA).

I use Tom tom navigator on my PPC with a GPS unit daily now and agree I don’t travel without it.

Pocket plan sounds interesting, I don’t use MS project at present but can envisage some instances where it could be of benefit for use with my clients.

Why do you use Onenote instead of Outlook/PI notes?

Hi James,
didn’t know that your blog was already up and running. I consider it a valuable resource just like your “Tools” posts. I’m a PPCT member, and am that NYC based freelance photographer using my e805 to, as we say adroitly; Shoot, Ship and Shutup!” Now that it’s riding season I try to leave my pickup at home and run to assignments atop my motorcycle or scooter, relying even more so on my e805 and a streamlined “kit” of photography gear. I was at the CeBit show and saw the new tweenie handy PC. Me thinks, that with the instant startup of a PPC and the soon to be available bluetooth Stowaway keyboard, I’ll still be sending my pix faster and easier. Lookin forward to your blogs postings…..
