Got my 3Gs after 2.5 hours of standing in “reserved” line. They’re still insisting on activating the phones. Of course their idea of “activation” left me with no phone service for a solid hour after I left the store as at&t’s servers tried to shoulder the load.

My sound bite: The rubicon has been crossed, the 3Gs feels like a desktop computer. The extra RAM, the faster CPU and JPG offload onto the GPU has made for a whole new experience: a desktop experience. Of course that’s with it WiFi’d into my 50Mbps Comcast cable internet service… YMMV. :-)

Decided to stop by the ATT store on the way back. Walked in, got the GS 32GB for $299 even though I’ve only had the 3G for 11 months, and left within 10 minutes.

No lines, and got the full discount (without thinking that I deserved it)!
