FYI Newegg is not in Cali, Its in Edison NJ. I have been searching a multitude of sites and most that have similar speeds are twice the cost.

Hey Kevin, Did I miss something? How does that 2GB memory card that you bought work on music and video? I want to replace the card that I have now which stutters noticeably on playback in the Q1. Is yours one I should consider?

There's a link on my blog to a detailed performance test of the Samsung SSD disk if you're interested. I write about uninstalling everything from my desktop and have all data online and only use online webapplications. So 32 GB is more than enough for my uninstalled PC.

I bought a Toshiba 2GB card that doesn't play video or music files without stuttering. I read on one of the sites that the Q1 has a slow CF slot. I hope that you have more success with your new card.

I would really appreciate it if you can try out playing video off of the CF card on the Samsung. I have been looking at a card like this for a while, but I want to make sure that the transfer rate is good enough for video. No one wants to watch a movie that stutters.

What I’m hoping for is that the 8GB CF cards get a little faster so that I can load Windows on the CF card for some of those laptops that let’s you boot from USB, and flash card slots! Then I can use the HDD for keeping the data I create and have fast booting Windows on the CF!! :D

How fast is “20MB/s read 18MB/s write” to run Windows from?

Yes, I found some cheaper ones after I ordered this one. What I liked about this Transcend card was the positive user reviews I found around the web. Prices sure have dropped since an 8 GB card was $600. :)

A quick check on newegg tells me that you got ripped off a bit on that card.

I found a 120x 8GB card there for $129 + $5 shipping. Also found a 150x 8GB card for $145 + $5 shipping.

No tax for you since Newegg is in Cali.

No, I don’t work for Newegg. Just saying that the price you found is not that special these days. :P
