I’m yet to see a kid fall for that one, though.

Other superstitions that I’ve come across -
“In an open source project, your bug report will always be the last to be tackled.”
“Your anti-virus will save you from all Internet evil”
“A bunch of 16-year old hackers with *nix computers control everything that happens on the Internet”
“Wi-fi damages your brain-cells”

There’s so many of these, but I can’t remember them all right now :)
