Since pharma and actuarial still require paper copies, then let them print them on their end, we shouldn’t make 2 copies of one document, ever. Which brings me to my final point, ‘actual’ signatures.

Sign your name, scan it and save it on your drive then ‘paste’ it into your document and fax it directly from your pc (or those pretty toy computers).

However, since any number of shady transactions occurs regularly in dingy check cashing, western union, and OTB fronts all over this country; and the denizens thereof won’t be as tech savvy as you, you’re probably right we’re stuck with soviet era technology for some time to come.

For those who retain a landline, it’s good that fax is pretty standard as part of low cost multifunction printers. Not heavy duty, perhaps, but useful for now and then.
