The current bundle is available for another 11 days and includes six-month-long subscriptions to social CRM app BatchBook, email marketing tool MailChimp and online form creator Formstack. Also part of the bundle is a $120 voucher to use with invoicing service Freshbooks and 100 MOO mini-cards.

Purchased individually, the collection would set you back $500, but when bought as the AppSumo bundle, it costs just $55 — less than a single subscription to any one of those apps! It’s a great deal if you’re considering using the premium versions those apps. What’s more, 50 percent of every sale goes towards the National Wildlife Federation to help clean up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

What tools would you like to see in an AppSumo bundle?

It’s been an exciting and interesting year to be a web worker. We’ve come to rely more on services like Twitter, there has been huge buzz about Google Wave, and there are certainly no shortages of new applications being released each and every day.

Around this time last year I wrote “5 Applications and Services For Which I Am Thankful,” which was a tribute to the cream of the crop that I had chosen as my daily go-to products. With another year gone, I thought it would be interesting to revisit that list of products (at the time, I picked Gmail, BatchBook, BlogDesk, Toodledo and Google Calendar) to see what may have changed.

Despite the number of products that I test and review, all providing limitless opportunity to switch things around, it seems that very little has changed in my day-to-day web app usage, at least in the key applications that drive my business. Today, all five of these apps would be still be high on my list. Each continues to fulfill a very specific need and despite the growing number of other choices in each category, I would still choose these today.

With that said, there is one notable omission from this list, a product that I’ve come to rely on tremendously over the last few months. I’ve written in detail about Springpad in the past and with each day it becomes an even more integral part of my routine.

The tools that we use to run our businesses and organize our lives are tremendously important, and play a key role in our success.

What apps and services are you thankful for?

Like many of us, I spend a lot of time on the web and come across a staggering number of interesting things. In Clearing The Cache, I pull out some of my favorites and share them with you here.

Online identity manager DandyID, which I covered back in July, has added some nice improvements to its privacy options, specifically the option to control which of your identities is visible through your online profile or shared widgets.

Simon shared some great integration news about Outright and Expensify. It’s wonderful to see the Small Business Web initiative really moving forward.

Browser Opera Mini jumps to beta 5 — an impressive looking release for the mobile platform. Tabbed browsing and password management look like standout features.

Social Contact Manager BatchBook now lets you create custom web forms that tie right in to your CRM database.

The folks over at MailChimp just announced a very cool Twitter-themed email template for their email marketing service. Link your MailChimp account to your Twitter account, and you can automatically pull in profile information including colors and backgrounds, follower numbers and recent tweets to use in your campaigns.

Last week Mike shared some thoughts on some of the reasons he is thankful he is a Web Worker. With the announcement that popular apps I Want Sandy and Stikkit are to close, I thought I would take a moment to list the acknowledge the tools or services that I am most thankful for.

These aren’t the only ones I use, but they are the ones that make my Web Working experience the best it can be.

Gmail – It is the lifeblood of my daily communication. I use a single inbox to aggregate a number of different accounts and it seems that the bulk of my information passes through Gmail at some point in my process. I am addicted to the ability to search and find all of my correspondence so quickly and easily. I’d love better contact capability, but my next application handles that well.

BatchBook – While Gmail is the conduit for the bulk of my communication, BatchBook helps me keep track of who I need to communicate with. A small business CRM product that is remarkably simple to use, but with a bunch of super powerful options that put it ahead of similar products. Their batchbox functionality lets me email important correspondence right into the system and automatically links it to my contacts.

BlogDesk – The only desktop application on my list but one that makes my contributions to the web so easy. I use BlogDesk to compose all of my articles for WWD and elsewhere and I would be lost without it. I can write offline and easily submit articles to just about any compatible blog platform. It handles images flawlessly, produces clean code, and it’s free. I’ve tried LiveWriter and others but nothing beats the ease of use of BlogDesk.

Toodledo – Task management tools are a dime a dozen and I’ve looked at or used a good share of them. The feature set and functionality of Toodledo makes it an indispensable part of my web working life though. It is fully GTD ready (when I make that leap) and offers me numerous ways to display my lists. I can enter and retrieve my task information via email, Twitter, Jott, as well as a handy Firefox extension so I can capture a task from just about anywhere.

Google Calendar – Keeping track of meetings, events and other deadlines is critical to me and my Google Calendar handles the task admirably. I like the way I can create and share multiple calendars and have it all appear in one place. My Toodledo tasks show up right next to the meal plans my wife makes. I can view it on my mobile and get reminders via email or SMS.

I’ve really come to rely on these tools to keep me organized and productive. With recent events reminding me that I can’t take the availability of applications for granted, I want to acknowledge how thankful I am for them while I can.

I’ve recently upgraded to a Windows Smartphone, and like any good Web Worker I am looking to tweak the maximum amount of functionality and productivity from it that I possibly can. I access my Gmail via IMAP using the built in messaging client, and with my contacts stored nicely in BatchBook (which I’ve covered before) and my calendars available online in Gcal, I really thought I would be all set.

As nice as the mobile interfaces for these apps are though, I found I did miss the benefits of having this information stored in my phone’s native apps, specifically for caller ID and visibility from the main screen without needing to launch a browser.

So with a bit of online research, I was really pleased to find the GooSync service from the folks at Toffa.

Different than the GoodSync application I also recently reviewed, The GooSync service is designed to allow you to synchronize your Google Calendar with just about any mobile device. It is available as both a free service as well as a Premium offering which adds considerable functionality, including the ability to connect to multiple calendars as well as contact and task sync as well.

For simple single calendar synchronization the free option will probably work well enough for most folks, but for me the upgrade was a no brainer. I have multiple calendars in use for both personal and business and being able to have them all available is a necessity. Add to that an auto-sync function and I’m sure to always be up to date even when others are adding items to my calendar for me, which is frequently.

The contact synchronization option in the premium service can be set to connect to either your Gmail contacts or to a web based database. Given the sheer awfulness of Gmail contacts, I opted for the latter.

Because I use another app for contact management, the sync process isn’t quite as seamless as it is for calendaring. I think I’ve managed to make it pretty easy, and seem to have found my first use for DejaClick as well.

An export from Batchbook (or most any app really) provides a .csv file that is easily imported into a GooSync account, and then the autosync takes over. My full contact database is loaded up and available in my phones contacts app. I’m hoping that future upgrades will allow direct sync between various web services but for now this is a workable solution.

There is task functionality included as well, but with no Google counterpart, it’s GooSync specific. I haven’t had much use for it but for keeping track of simple to do items, it seems workable.

On the security side of things, I like that it is able to connect to my calendars using Google’s own authorization process rather than my needing to provide them with my Google login information.

Setting up the service is relatively easy: Create your account online, choose and configure your mobile device, and then start syncing.

As mentioned, there is a free plan available while the Premium service runs £19.95 (about $40) yearly. It does sync over air so data charges from your provider may apply.

How do you sync your desktop to your mobile device?
