I have learned my lesson from trying to text on a phone while driving by hitting a brick mail box that almost threw my back out of place..!! Since then i dnt believe Barack Obama can pay to to text or talk on the phone while driving.

I do not see the difference between a distraction of a commercial on the road or a friend on the passengers seat or applying makup on the road or loud music on the radio or talking on the cell phone. they are all distractions but they ban only one of them?

IN Kansas City they are or did banned teenagers off the cell phone. But if your 21 and older its ok. That is BS infact teens can probly text and talk better than adults. But any way if your going to banned it, than banned it from all not just A GROUP.

What makes a speaker phone different from a radio. I dont see one. So why dont we ban radio to. Yes I agree with handheld phones but not speaker phones.

I think your right that people shouln’t text or talk on the phone while driving cuz people can wreck and get hurt or maybe even killed so I so agree with you!!!!!!!

no, talking an dtexting should be alowed. it takes time away from somebody’s day that can be getting some work done while in the car. just because some people abuse it doesn’t mean everybody has to lose the privilage.

Well……………………………….my sisters and bro6thers have a good idea to use cell phones and still be able to pay attetion. My brother will be in the passanger seat and my sister in the driver. my sister will g et a text and my brother will take the wheel for her. lol hahaha……well i know it’s still not good. I just think that they should ban all drivers from using cell phones

All i have to say to you chris is i dont care about the university of Utah. Nothing will change the way i feel. I believe that texting should be eligal but you should be able to talk on your phone because than you can still watch the road.

Not true. The University of Utah study findings are quite definitive on this point: your brain cannot be engaged in driving while talking on a cell phone in the same way it can be engaged in driving while doing other things, like listening to the radio or talking to a passenger. Hands-free or not hands-free has nothing to do with it.

what a lot of you are forgetting is that talking on a hands free cellphone is mostly the same as talking to someone else in the car. its only a little modifyed. so with the points that the problem isnt the cellphone in our hands but the converstaion going on, you are basically saying that people shouldn’t be talking in the car in the first place. good luck getting that banned. also you seem to be forgetting that even while talking on a handless phone you could tell the person just a sec while you turn a corner or do something needing more attention just like you should with an actual person in the car. its not cellphones that are bad its people just not paying attention from the start
