Remember the Milk Introduces Sync for Blackberry
Last week, I raved about Remember the Milk’s Gmail extension for keeping my inbox clean and action-oriented. Shortly thereafter, the good folks at RTM gave me something else to cheer about: MilkSync for Blackberry.
With MilkSync, you can sync your RTM tasks over-the-air with the built-in Blackberry Task application. RTM has had MilkSync for Windows Mobile for some time now.
Now publicly available, the application was inspired by Google’s outstanding calendar sync for Blackberry. You install a small program on your Blackberry which manages the sync process. The RTM application gives you a log of sync actions, as well as the ability to set preferences for the sync process.
After using the application through the Pro Testing Program for the last week or so, I can say that the sync works quite well. Set it once and forget it’s there. There are some limitations due to the rather weak Blackberry task application and some issues with the Blackberry OS. Be sure to thoroughly read the FAQ on the RTM page so your expectations are realistic.
While I can get all of RTM’s bells & whistles by visiting the RTM page in my Blackberry browser, it is quite handy to quickly add/review tasks on my phone without worrying about the strength of my data connection.
Simply visit www.rmilk.com/milksync in your Blackberry browser to download the sync tool. You will need to be a pro user to use the software beyond a 15 day trial period.
Now who is going to complete the trilogy and develop a tool to sync Gmail contacts over-the-air with the Blackberry address book application? ::tap tap:: I’m waiting. ::tap tap::

Try http://www.scheduleworld.com for syncing anything with anything, including Gmail contacts with BB.
It’s based on Funambol (same platform RTM is using). I sync my Tbird contacts automatically with their server, and then with my HTC phone, also over the air and automatically. The same for Calendar (GCalendar synced with Tbird and their server, which then syncs with the phone). I even sync RTM with the phone (Windows mobile) without their app (it doesn’t work with all the other stuff and I had this organized before they launched it): I sync RTM with Tbird thanks to the iCal feed. Then I sync Tbird with Scheduleworld. And finally, SW with the phone. The only problem here is that it depends on Tbird, so you need to have it open to let the magic happen.
IMHO, best sycning service on the web by far.
You can also search for other Funambol servers and see if the have what you need.
Hi Judy, as Fernando says, Funambol already syncs BlackBerry contacts and agenda. As sync server you can use my.funambol.com, based on latest Funambol versions. Stay tuned with Funambol because we’re about to release a new version of the Blackberry plugin with support for tasks too. Cheers
@stefano
Regarding that new version. Will you support tasks synchronization for Windows Mobile too? I used my.funambol.com in the past but left to ScheduleWorld because of that. Apart of that, it was great too and your UI is more friendly.
