I started using twitter a few months ago, and have seen a noticeable increase in the traffic to my wordpress blog. I have used a plugin to link twitter to wordpress so that my twitter posts appear on my blog and my blog posts are announced to my twitter followers. I also noticed more typed in traffic to my blog by adding a background with my URL. I got a Pownce invite, and tried it out for a couple days and then went back to Twitter. I guess I should take another look at Pownce.

I think the best commentary about Pownce was on Twitter. It went something like "I thought Pownce was stupid, until I saw it was from Kevin Rose and Leah Culver!!"

Um, still doesn't make it any less stupid because of the people involved.

I find it overly intrusive, nothing interesting, and pretty much another Truemors - big name behind it, nothing yet of substance.

Yes, you can say the same of Twitter, but I find the options there somewhat more pleasing.

I use twitter mostly from my phone. There is no added benefit for me to switch as I can't text files or calendar items through Pownce on my phone anyway.
