Unless someone makes it work with phone/SMS, no. That’s why it took off at SXSW last year; everyone was using their phones to send text message twitters. Not everyone has an iPhone or a Blackberry to use the mobile interface – the regular old text messaging system was what made Twitter work. Everyone could join in the fun.

No need for internet access, or a data plan on your mobi’ You just need to be able to send and receive SMS.
