This is a great little article. I really struggled with this personally when I left the corporate job scene.

My biggest measure of success has been, as mentioned in the article, is customer satisfaction. In particular, helping a customer’s business grow online is a huge nod towards my career growth… really kind of becoming a partner in their business from the web perspective, and doing everything I can to make them grow.

The real issue is the timeline in which how these goals are supposed to be accomplished, as freelance work tends to progress slower than the structured corporate America job. That is why most freelance work starts as a part time gig, some do it out of hobby.
