Yes, Sal, the tradeoffs of web work versus corporate work would be a great topic for discussion. Health insurance in particular is a sticky issue. I'm going to put those onto my list of coverage areas for the future.

Well, I am not 100% sure, but I am going to strongly consider entering the corporate world. I love so many things about being a web worker, but there are more things to consider than sleeping late and making your own schedule. I think the tradeoffs that we, as web workers, make have to be looked into, things like paying for health insurance, taking vacations, and not working at 2 in the morning. These are definitely things I would be interested to see how other people work around and probably good topics for discussion on WWD.

So Sal, you are looking to return to the corporate world in 2007? That should be an interesting transition. Keep us up to date, we'd like to start profiling web workers as they make various career decisions/transitions. It'd be interesting to hear what sort of culture shock you suffer if you do return to a "real job."

I don't know about all of you, but the holidays are the busiest time of the year for tech. Between gift season and CES then entire span from Thanksgiving to Jan 12 nothing gets done except everyone running around throwing press releases and NDAs at one another...

As for determining what you want to do by what movie you like, seems a bit idealistic. I have been a web worker for about three years now and I am very interested to see how well these skills I have been honing translate themselves into a corporate/office job or as my friends would say, a "real job". Furthermore, I am concerned about how interviewers will consider this as applicable experience...
