I don&#039;t mean to belittle the &#039;office-type&#039; apps but there are a number of open source productivity apps available that people as well as companies can surely benefit from.  Sure most of these apps need IT people for deployment, configuration and installs but I&#039;m sure pretty soon we&#039;d be coming to an age where it is just as simple as using GDocs or where the installation can be done &lt;a href=&quot;http://blog.mor.ph/2008/11/open-source-saas-apps-for-productivity.html&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;with just a click of a button&lt;/a&gt;.
