I have had a great experience with Nokia E 61. It's extremely user friendly and is has fantastic features. I did have some problems of upgrading the Nokia PC suite from the CD that was given. But, the customer service too was pretty good. They handled the queries quiet well back here in India.

At that price and features, it is quite a sensible buy!

Hi every one,
I have bought a E61 in France, changed it after 10 days (new firmware provided on nokia website made my pushmail not working anymore), and it works pretty well. WiFi is great to have to surf on the net from everywhere, to download files.
with little add-ons (total 50 $), I can check if my flghts are delayed or ontime, get the weather reports, lock my keyboard (yes, this feature is not automatic when you buy it)

I am very happy with this new device, even if it is not very friendly to have it by your ear.
music is in stereo when I use a bluetooth headset

I still feel one has to choose whether phone features or data/pda features are the most important as everything I've used or considered excels at one or the other, but not both.

Currently, I'm using a Sprint Windows Mobile PPC-6700 for three reasons: The slide-out keyboard is truly usable (I can't type on Blackberry or Treos - the button are too close together and too small); the tethered 3G mode (via USB or bluetooth) to use as a modem with a laptop IS A STEAL at $15/month for unlimited data; full synchronization with our Exchange email for contacts, calendar, task list in addition to basic email is free (Blackberry requires BES server and Treo requires Goodlink - these can add $10 to $30/month is "extra" service fees).

For primarily a phone, I'm still prefer the Moto Razr although I'm looking at the Motorola Q as a possible compromise for both phone and some data (but I don't like the non-touch screen interface and the buttons are not solid.)

The Treo 700Wx lookd decent, but the keyboard just doesn't work for me and it doesn't have all the radio options that Sprint has.

There is rumor of a new line of Smartphones from HTC (the Taiwan folks that actually make the PPC-6700 and most PDA's for HP et. al.) so we are probably going to see another wave of products hitting the shelves soon and it might make sense to wait for the Xmas promos to see what will be available.

The E62 rocks, though the E61 is better because of WiFi. The media player should work in stereo. You should be able to tether with it (though I haven't personally tested).

Can I use the phone as Edge modem also? (e.g., connect via USB to my laptop and get Internet access?) I know Edge is really slow (albeit still several times faster than dialup) but when there is no Wi-Fi and I just need to upload some documents this Edge modem capability would come in handy.

(and if it does work that way, what is the price to add unlimited data to the voice plan?)
