Itsy: A Tiny Mac Twitter Client

Itsy is a Twitter client that’s designed to take up minimal screen real estate; particularly useful if you’re working on a smaller laptop screen. It’s like a condensed version of Tweetie; it uses a smaller font and more compact design to achieve the space savings. Here’s a screenshot of the two clients side-by-side for comparison:

Despite its diminutive size, it sports a useful array of features:

  • Mentions integrated into timeline
  • Inline yfrog, twitpic and imgur viewing
  • Reply chains
  • Growl notifications
  • Twitter Search

However, it’s not a good option if you need to manage multiple Twitter accounts.

Itsy is a free download for Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
