I have also come to the same conclusion about disengaged followers and high follower count. I think it’s best to add to a following/follower count at a slower rate, and read through tweets to find out about your followers, rather than to rapidly increase following/followers and know absolutely nothing about the likes and dislikes of the followers. It defeats the purpose of Twitter.
