Many collaboration tools are pretty simple to set up and use now. I think the most convenient ones are the ones that have multifunction capabilites. One tool I know of that avoids monthly fees and separate accounts from online hosted solutions is the 4-in-1 appliance by RHUB. It includes conferencing, webinars, remote support, and remote access. Take a look at their website:

Somehow, I have never come across much resistance when it comes to getting business contacts accept online collaboration tools. We often have to interact with analysts and journalists scattered across the globe, and often without second thought from both sides, we use online collaboration and web conferencing tools.
I wish I had better suggestions to add then it takes a lot of hand holding but once you can get them to do it a few times, their eyes are opened and they get excited about easier ways to do business. I have the same trouble when asking people to visit my Tungle.Me link to schedule a meeting. Even though it is easier and faster, until they have tried it, they'll still email or phone to try to find a time to meet.
