There are a ton of file sharing and file transfer solutions out there. Most of them are free and thus targeting the consumer level audience. I've used YouSendIt in the past for personal use, but found that for business use (where my business requires enterprise-level features such as security, tracking, notifications, branded sites, etc.), another company called LeapFILE does this the best. If you are looking for a file exchange solution that is robust and reliable for business use, I highly recommend LeapFILE. For personal use, there are lots of free services out there.

Hi Sharon,

Just a clarification: ShareFile actually allows for permanent storage. We do have a "File Box" that is intended for one-time transfers and files there only live for 30 days, but you can create as many permanent folders as you want and files will stay there as long as you want them to.

I work at ShareFile and this is not intended to be an advertisement for our product but rather just a clarification on your comment.

We thought they may be pricey, too, but discovered that when you start adding up the cost of adding users and groups, like the ones we'd need for our company, that FileGenius was as much as 3-4 times cheaper than the other ones and also had more features. One, ShareFile, seemed like a bargain at $99/mo but they remove your files from view every 30 days. FileGenius was really the best choice for us.
