I just joked around with a new client after she asked me to mail in my signed contract because she thought scanning sounded too painful. Made me think of this post. This is what I explained to the client:

Scan: paper on scanner, upload to computer, email.

Mail: find envelope, can't find envelope, go to store and buy envelope or go to post office and buy envelope, destroy the earth with emissions from car as I drive to store or post office, feel guilty about destroying the earth, wait in a long line at post office to get proper postage or buy stamps, continue to destory earth on way home.
