There are a host of sites like this, irent2u being another example. However, as far as I know they all charge a fraction of the owners income from the site as a fee.

We run http://RentNotBuy.com, which is (as far as we know) the only _totally_ free site of this kind.

We run this site as a service to the web community, to try encourage people to think about what they actually _need_ to buy and what they might just be able to borrow/rent.

Check out iLetYou ( http://www.iletyou.com ), a rental search engine for all products recently launched. It’s completely free to list items to rent, both for businesses and individuals.

Person-to-person rentals are indeed interesting to think about as with Zilok and iLetYou’s previous product, but many factors suggest it may be a largely intractable problem.

We believe in rental as an obvious way to reduce waste and inefficient consumption, but we take a slightly different approach to help us get to a better mode of consumption.
