Thanks to Mr.Steven to remind us not to judge book by its cover. However by looking at his review, I do agree with him, but not at the ending line. It is because I personally like anything about rand, design, marketing or creativity. These categories are nebulous things. I do agree with Mr.Glory Borgeson. These are the one that is not as many people study. Therefore, it would be unique and new for the things that others don't touch. Ever think about it? I just realize it these days.. ^_*

Thanks for reviewing this book, Georgina.
You're correct that branding is a nebulous concept. As I studied it and began to write about it some time ago, I realized that many people have been "branding themselves" for years (without calling it that).

I also realized another concept, which I say and write frequently: "If you don't brand yourself, someone else will. And it probably won't be the brand you want!"

Because of that, I put together a "Brand Yourself! Special Report" that highlights all of the practical aspects of personal branding. And I developed a self-paced "Brand Yourself! Coaching Program" that is extremely practical for both corporate employees and small business owners (and is a lot less expensive than traditional biz coaching).

These, plus more articles about personal branding, are available at my website, www.GloryBorgeson.com

Having read a couple of other "Complete Idiot's Guide"s, I can say that they all seem to follow this pattern of being too light and breezy, with no detailed coverage of anything useful. Basically, if you need a very light introduction to the topic having no idea about it previously, these books might suffice, but you'll quickly find them wanting if you want to get into a subject in any depth.

Good review - I won't buy the book.

"Never judge a book by its cover". However since that's what brand is all about I'm going to!

1. Orange? Seriously?
2. Top-right centered text? No wonder they were confused over whether to pay for a professional designer or not.
3. The woman in the middle doesn't look any happier in that photo than the other generics.
4. Branding Yourself - this isn't very good grammar; do they mean 'Branding You' (as an entity) or 'Branding, by yourself' (DIY branding). I suspect, from Georgina's review, it is actually a mish-mash of both.
5. Finally, an "Idiot's" guide? What, like I'm an idiot? What about "a Beginner's Guide to..."?

As a rule I don't invest any time in any product about brand, design, marketing or, creativity that can't make itself look good.
