If there is a potential for a long term relationship, I’ll invest the extra dollars and provide the tools myself so that I’ll be able to support their office staff and networks.

Works for me and the clients appreciate the fact that I’m willing to go that extra yard or two. It works for me.

I’ve done part-time freelance work for the last ten years and what has always worked for me is being honest and upfront with the client. Telling them that I only do my freelance computer work part-time, after hours and weekends, but for a normal business hour fee, has worked extremely well for everyone involved.
