		<description><![CDATA[&lt;p&gt;These are daunting figures, to be sure. I&#039;m not all that optimistic about a sudden decline of interest in the gadgets that help us communicate, play and work from home...or where ever we are. And as the WSJ pointed out today, some of those gadgets have reduced the devastating impact of long commutes. That&#039;s all good, but I am not willing to capitulate to vampire energy and waste just because gadgets do some good. As this blog and others have noted, there are plenty of alternatives to opening our household veins to vampire energy.
