People are always trying to advertise new cars that will help us with the environmental issue that we have been in but I seem to find that most or all of the ideas people come up with all have a negative that could make it worse. Trying to help is the right attitude but not always the most successful. People also cannot financially just pay for the different ways to help go green instead of producing new cars to help the environment why not try and change the cars that we already have as cost is a main factor.

I appreciate the efforts being made. However, I find the measures too little and too late to make a real impact in curbing the rate of environmental degradation.

A lenient scheme like the one above will ensure that the price of credits is still low enough for firms to buy them off the market or even accumulate negative credits. We've seen the same with the carbon credits market where the prices have fallen because of the high caps set by governments leaving little financial incentive for many companies meeting the targets to exceed them and for the others to buy credits cheaply off the market.

What has this scheme learned from the failings of the carbon credits model?

Additionally, scientists and environmentalists are citing facts and figures that our rate of reducing emissions is far less than the rate required. Furthermore, our environmental carbon sinks are losing its ability to cleanse our planet at the rate it could earlier. I'd like to hear the environmentalists views on this scheme too?

A challenge of this nature needs us to stop postponing the eventuality and be brave enough to make hard commitments and sacrifices. Soft promises are for procrastinators. ;)

A passionate activist.

I'm actually looking forward to this a lot. Yes, I know it's looking expensive, but we've been going with the "bigger is better" theory for quite some time. That & I can't find my Mitsubishi Eclipse in the parking lot of Hummers & Exibitions. I'd rather pay more in the beginning in order to save in the long run, especially if it means that we're not destroying the earth nearly as fast as we are now.
