  • Foster and aftermarket…. I’d be willing to bet that a good portion of early Volt fans were about the image of the car— and the gap from concept to production was too huge– esp in an era where those in love with Camaros, Chargers, Mustangs, etc want to make a clean break, but are cursed with silly vanilla cars. Oh yes yes, bring up co-efficient drag, but that’s not the point that sells even more. How many aftermarket parts can we add to a car to make it look better, while still embracing technology that will drive the green movement forward?

If they only sell 500 (or 5000) cars per year, it will be a joke.

    I think the serial hybrid design (vs. parallel like the Prius) is also a risk. It depends on the batteries. If it’s not well-designed, it may have poor acceleration, which will be a disappointment.

The batery has to have the same energy density as the fuel it will replace or it is just another boy toy.
