Was reading an article posted on the energy circle blog this evening. They have recently received their latest eMonitor from PowerHouse Dynamics. There is an excellent article with images of the unit, its installation and first impressions.

I have been using a wattsup SC20 to monitor the precise use on each circuit for the power factor correction and lighting reviews I have been writing. I really did need the precise power factor of the individual circuits. I can understand where monitoring the circuits individually is required.

http://open4energy.com/forum/home/dev/powerhouse_dynamics_emonitor_first_impressions

But once you know what a circuit uses, at $600.00 this seems to be somewhat of an overkill. You have still not saved any energy. I am note sure if knowing the circuit was exactly 343Watts, or the home electricity changed by about 350Watts is necessary for an average home owner.

But we have added them to our directory of monitors, there is room for all market segments.

From the postings on the blog the energy enthusiasts seemed interested in upgrading their TED 5000's

$600 isn't a bad investment at all with such a low monthly subscription! This could definitely help regulate consumers' electricity usage in their home and maybe convince them to turn off a light or two! Great article!
