&lt;p&gt;I think there is a bigger story than most people in the US realize...&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There are strong indications that the electric vehicle industry (batteries, fuel cells and capacitors) is likely to launch (and could stay) in Asia where existing supply chains, raw materials and labor are ready to go.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The globalization of the electric vehicle industry is completely off the radar of the mainstream public- so thanks for the post!   Big fan of Earth2Tech!&lt;/p&gt;
