This article really interests me on several levels. It examines as an opportunity for oil rich individuals and companies to make large profits in sustainable energy. I don't know how if I feel about this, but the truth is if solar power is ever going to generate large amounts of energy, we need economies of scale to really kick in. And that requires big money like Masdar has available. Still I'm also really interested in the micro-level.

I'm considering buying a house in Oxnard, California that utilized solar power as an incentive that was based on the real estate model described by Adam Edward Rothwell, a real estate professional and attorney at www.solarpowerandrealestate.com I think down the road solar power will become a fundamental part of more real estate transactions here in the US. I just don't want to sit on the sidelines waiting to see how these large investments play out. Additionally, I don't know how much an investment in solar power in Gulf Nations has the potential to impact me here in the US.
