I think we also need to do things like reducing our energy usage, like installing geothermal heat pumps to replace high energy heating and cooling systems.

I used waterproofing admixtures for concrete in Germany about 15 years ago for basement walls, swimming pools etc. The concrete needed to be min 250mm thick and the construction joints had to be sealed with swelling sealant strips.
So what about this technology is new?
