&lt;p&gt;You are correct.  I was referring to &quot;photo voltaic cells,&quot; but the more accepted acronym now seems to simply be &quot;PV.&quot;  &quot;Photo voltaic cells,&quot; or &quot;PVC&quot; should not be confused with polyvinyl chloride.  Thanks for the clarification.&lt;/p&gt;
