America is so backwards, xenophobic and hegemonic as to need to play “Catch-Up” Science games while the rest ot the world makes real advances! Remember “Stem-Cell Fiasco”? There are papers in Mandarin so advanced and so confusing for uni-lingual American Medical primitives to not be understood stateside at all! What about the Thorium bed reactors India designs? We are so obsessed with weapons fuels, we can build no other type of reactor! The rest of the world progresses beyond the “Foot Ball Star”, “One Winner Takes all” Capitalist and corporatist notions of life, to the communal spirited ” mutually beneficial” socialists notions! Let these good souls work at fusion, it is one ‘Holy Grail” for energy production that can serve all mankind once unleashed, and likely produces no other fissionable weponizable debris, just clean energy – ask them to translate all work into many languages as they go so that redundancies can be avoided, valuable contributions made buy the immense force of Asian intellectuals available in the world today!China has more post graduates with I Q’s of 130+ than the U.S. has high school students, drop-outs included, and this frail perishable human resource, fruit of mankind must not be wasted on frivolous commerce, building a better ‘Volt” for example.

BTW, any tech-head should go visit NIF’s website. The sheer audacity of the project is pretty cool. “Creating a miniature star on Earth.” Indeed! I have to admit that I didn’t hear about it before, but it’s got my attention now.
