		<description><![CDATA[&lt;p&gt;While I see a potential future for this type of reactor, enrgy is the least of our worries when it comes to tar sands. They do currently use 5 barrles worth of natural gas energy for steam to produce 4 barrles of a gooey tar like kerogen. It also takes 2 to 5 barrels of additonal water and they carve up over 4 tons of earth to get 2 tons of sand that yield 1 barrel of kerogen. The rest of the sand and oily residues are flushed with more water into holding ponds that will be highly toxic for thousands of years.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Kerogen is also loaded with sulfur. In their attempts to remove the sulfur they have created over 5 ton piles of sulfur that leach acid into the ground and waterways. These piles grow by 1700 tons a day. Winds create huge clouds of sulfur that blow around unitl they contact water and become liquid acid. Syncrude Canada Ltd. says they cannot afford to move the piles 930 miles to where it might be sold. In Kazakhstan the piles are over 8 tons and growing just as fast if not faster.&lt;/p&gt;
