It makes no sense to have any of them compete since they really don’t. Lithium are great for high-end sporty cars, while heavier lead-acid based would be better for SUVs and pickup trucks.

It doesn’t make sense to have anything compete since there is a solution for every case.

First, can we be sure that they’ve solved the shelf-life problems with Lithiums? (They used to die after about 4 years, whether you use them or not.)

Second, extra weight is a problem with vehicles, but with improved regenerative braking (such as might be provided with ultracaps) then that extra energy needed to move the heavier vehicle can be recovered.
