		<description><![CDATA[&lt;p&gt;Perhaps GM should be hyping the Chevy Volt a lot less considering subsidies will be needed to make it even remotely viable for mainstream consumers.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;With the Volt expecting to cost $40,000 without subsidies, it will be $17,600 more than the 2010 Toyota Prius.  Gasoline would have to be vastly more expensive for the Volt to be economical.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;People should take a look at what Toyota and Honda are saying about plug-in battery cars.&lt;/p&gt;
