With the Volt expecting to cost $40,000 without subsidies, it will be $17,600 more than the 2010 Toyota Prius. Gasoline would have to be vastly more expensive for the Volt to be economical.

People should take a look at what Toyota and Honda are saying about plug-in battery cars.
