@EVExpert You’re right that A123 faces serious competition. The SEC filing notes Nissan’s joint venture with NEC as an example of several companies with greater financial and marketing resources that could make it tough for A123 to compete. Government funding could potentially widen that gap, although it’s too early to tell whether A123 might still benefit under DOE loan/ grant programs.

Why no mention of the impact of the Nissan $1.4b DOE loan on A123. That is a huge competitor and would require $300m+ in equity to complete.
