Finally the energy management market is getting its act together.

The electricity Industry is so old fashions it drives me nuts.
I live in Sweden and the local electricity company was one of the first in the world to do remote meter readings, but they are loathe to allow me to connect and pull my usage data from them date stamped.

I feel the cost of installing a meter reader in the basement is not worth it and woudl prefer the energy utilities to open the data up with a simple push based service.

If this happens that everyone does not have to hack around with the meter boxes, and can just monitor their energy usage and then have an internet network to do load shedding on their in house devices.
And the local electricity company can also get in on the act and do the load shedding for me.

this seam like the smarted evolution in this area.
Simple use the internet to allow all users to see their data and the zigbee based devices for the home will explode i predict.
