I believe the best size screen is 13.3 thats because its mid size and if you break it its the easiest of the screens to aquire. Unless you need an sz model screen and led screens are like gold dust. My new 13.3 x black screen is beautiful.

I had a 12" Powerbook for 3 years and last July I traded it in for a 13" MacBook. I had fallen for the 12" screen and its portability but I couldn't deny the new for a newer system. But surprisingly, I'm now looking for a refurbished 12" because I can't stand my 13" Macbook. The white casing is dirty, scratched and in my handbag, it's cumbersome.
I understnad 13" provides widescreen viewing for DVDs and the like but I prefer the 12". It will become a collectors item if Appl never brings it back.

Currently, I have a 12 inch monitor and feel that it's way too small. I think the 15 inch would be just right. As for the 17 inch monitor it could be quite good for editing film, photography, and graphic design. Though its benefits start to become much more about taking up space rather than the idea of being portable. I saw the 10 inch and would never get that it's just too small. It's good for people who have small offices like in a production truck called the honey because you just don't have any room to breath let alone space for a large computer. I suppose everybody needs somethng different, it's good apple can accomadate everyone in some small way. ---Truly, from Goldie. I say that the 15 inch is Just right!

Most commentators are in favour of the 15-inch screen. The only one in favour of 17-inch screen is someone who uses graphics programs, like Aperture. This is the crux of the matter: if you are into graphics, like serious photo editing, the bigger the screen the better. You need to see what you are doing and so you need a big screen. Laptops have always been used by photographers, but are a necessary evil: nobody would use one if they could use a full sized monitor. While 15 is more portable than17, if you are a photographer and can manage the size and weight of a 17 go for it.

I wish apple would make ultrathin 12" MacBook Pro with an optical drive and 10" without one. And I really really with they would offer an option with trackpoint. But the reality is that Steve does not like things when they are too small. One may say that Nano is small, and while it is true, it does not have small buttons and that is one of the reasons why shuffle does not have srceen. The bad thing is that Stive is getting older thus things will tend to get bigger (mostly in buttons, fonts etc) and since they can't remove half of the keyboard and make smaller resolution it does not look promissing.
But recently there were some rumors about ultrathin 12" MacBook Pro, but I bet we will see some of the Stive's big-wishness in it even if it really small.

i went from a 17" powerbook g4 to a 15" macbook pro. i can hardly tell the difference as it relates to my workflow (i do web + print design), other than to say, my 17" now seems ginormous and excessive. the 15" widescreen more than servers my needs. thus my vote is that dropping the 15" would suck. the 17" is heavy and unnecessary.

I'm a Graphic Designer and long term Macolite. 15 inches is what I want, I hope they don't drop it... I have had a couple opportunities to buy a 17 inch PowerBook / MacBook Pro and both times I have gone for the 15" it has the perfect balance of portability and functionality.
