I have not used Quicktime in a while, either - vlc does everything and then some. However, I'm still on version 0.8.6 and will not upgrade to 1.0 due to the lack of independent window resizing (which they put into the Windows version). Other than that, it played everything I could throw at it. Why switch?

I almost wish Apple would just integrate this into Quicktime. I hate having so many different video players. Or package all of these obscure formats into Quicktime X so I don't have to go searching for codecs and stuff. I'd love to use Quicktime as my primary player, but I haven't had a use for it in years.
