What version of QSB is this? I’m running the latest build on Snow Leopard and I don’t see application menus at all. Recent Document and drag and drop isn’t working either. Overall though, it’s quick and I think it’s pretty much the future “Quicksilver” as more features come online.

I made a white and a grey QSB logo myself, but I copied the look from the open source build of QSB which can be downloaded but needs to be compiled with X code, which is where I lost interest and preferred to draw my own LOL.
Happy to send the images.

QSB has promise. A few caveats for me:
-File manipulation is still iffy. I want to be freely move and copy items/folders from/to various folders. I can do that easily in Quicksilver and Launchbar. I’ve not had much luck with this in QSB.
-Open WITH (though there may be able to do this with services – I haven’t found a way yet).
-GoogleCal/GCal-QuickAdd integration. This one astounds me that a Google Product doesn’t support another, despite having ties into GoogleDocs and GMail.

@mech yes most of these features are present in QSB. there is no ‘comma trick’ yet so not as nice as using them in QS but getting there.

@bryan @str1f3 you can pull those image but replacing them is nice too, I’ve used alcor’s Quicksilver inspired QSB logo on mine: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/xU9BbRM8DDagJep5Ew0hDg?authkey=Gv1sRgCMLojcGlueTbOg&feat=directlink

The good thing is QSB is under heavy development with a dedicated team but there is some progress with Quicksilver recently with a lot of outdated plugins being re-written in applescript as QS services.

any Abracadabra-like features yet? I use this quite a lot for iCal, quit-app, relaunch app, hide-app, iTunes control, volume control, fast-logout, launching network applications, etc.

If it has this, I’ll consider switching soon.

Thanks for the review. Keep updating this because it’s hard to find good tutorials for QSB at this point.

@str1f3 if you really don’t like the Google logo you can always go into the apps resources and just pull the logo graphic out (right click on the app and select “show package contents” then from within the resources folder pull out the WhiteGoogleLarge.pdf file). @ed I’ve not seen a way to display text snippets for items found in the search.
