hello… interesting comparison… i am studying architecture so you can all immagine we are 24/7 on our computer with photoshop, indesign, adobe, archicad, vektorworks and so on… i’m using my freinds pc at the moment and the ones at school and i have to buy one… on my budget the only possibility is the white MacBook and the 13 inch Macbook Pro,,, i would also use the pc for a lot of photos videos and music… can i have some objective advice…be as honest as possible… my desiscion would be the white mac, but are those extra dollars worth what i am looking for, or even better is the white mac not the one for me, instead the pro does it for me because the white wouldn’t cope well with my situation?? thank you…

It’s been three months now since I bought the 13″ macbook pro. At fist I was not sure which one to buy, but now I am very happy with it and I’d take the same decision again.
Buy the pro!

Jeannine…. AND the MacBook has a 250gb drive standard while Pro is still at 160.

So… its all about the aluminum casing, and the SD slot….

PD I’m wondering the same thing! The only difference now between the 13″ MB and MBP is the upgrade capabilies (up to 4GB for the MB and 8GB for MBP, and the MBP can also be upgraded to 500gb HD space I believe). The tech at Mac Station swears the MBP runs faster even with the same speed and ram..he doesn’t know why. I have heard the MBP has a stronger more durable body vs the plasticy white MB. I’m still deciding too. I’d love to save some $$ if possible.

There’s one aspect that so far I didnt see anyone touching upon.
I had an HP compaq for 5 yrs, then bought a new ASUS UL50VG, now trying to choose a Mac (to use Logic, etc.). The problem is: with the old one HP I could work 10 hours and more without problems in the eyes- that was CCFL. ASUS makes my eyes tired in about 3 hrs.!!!!
Today i was in the Mac store, saw the subject laptops. macbook seems to have that old-scool,milder light, and macbook pro- rather harsh light of the Asus (looks fancy but not when you work long on it…).
Think about it – CCFL or LED. The salesmen could tell me which is what….
